Five persons were sentenced to seven years imprisonment each by a court here yesterday for committing a dacoity about three and a half years ago.
The court also fined the convicts Tk 20,000 each.

A discussion meeting was held at Shahid Zahir Raihan Hall of the town on the occasion, with Deputy Commissioner of Feni Mohammad Masum Khan attending as the chief guest.

One killed, 3 hurt in Feni road mishap

One person was killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Feni on Wednesday noon.
Source said, a speeding bus dashed a CNG auto-rickshaw coming from opposite direction at Gaibbari in Feni. As a result one was killed on the spot and three injured. The dead was identified as Halim Ullah Chowdhury and injured were Mainul, Mithun Chakravarty and Mamun. The injured were admitted to Femi Sadar Hospital.

One kg heroin seized in Feni
|

|
Members of the Chittagong zone of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a drive on Tuesday seized one kg heroin worth about Tk one crore at Feni.
They also arrested two drug peddlers Abul Kashem (40) and Khaez Ahmed (35) in this connection, DNC officials said.
Additional Director of DNC at Md. Wohiduzaman led the drive. A case was filed with Feni police station in this regard.
